REPUBLICAN BRYAN BIRD

As I watch what is going on in our country today, I see a need for someone to stand up and impart their Christian Biblical principles back into Washington D.C. Our great nation was founded upon these principles of integrity, goodness, self-control, love, care, and concern to name a few. Washington has lost connection with us and continues to pass bills that do not match up with our values here in West Virginia. Let's get back to what we, in West Virginia, would call common sense.

I am a Christian, a preacher, a husband, a father of two wonderful children, and a forester. I was born and raised in Fayette County, West Virginia. My father was a coal miner who taught me the values of hard work and taking care of your family. Values of a strong hand, but also a loving and tender hand. My mother was a legal secretary and exemplified the values of a loving and caring mother who did whatever it took to have a loving home. Both parents imparted their values into my life, and I continue to impart many of those same hard-working, loving, and caring values to my children. Most importantly, I was shown the value of faith in Jesus Christ, which has, and continues to define my daily walk. I have been married to my beautiful wife Carla for over 16 years. Carla is from Raleigh County, West Virginia. I met Carla in church and we have two children, Malachi and Cana. We currently live in Beckley, West Virginia.

I currently serve my local community as an Associate Pastor, and I am involved with several outreach programs with my local church. I attained my degree in Bible from Piedmont Baptist College. I know and understand the importance of serving the people, but also know that there is a need for someone to stand up and have a clear Biblical stance for what is right and what is wrong. I know that when my children are doing things that are wrong and could potentially cause them harm, I am quick to correct, reproof, and instruct out of love because I want to see them at their best. God does that as well. I see a world today where everyone is afraid to stand up and tell the truth because of political correctness and the cancel culture. However, I know that God only gives us the truth because He truly loves and cares about us. He wants to see His creation at their best. I want to see Biblical principles and morality restored in our great nation. God's Word has, and will always be, the road map to a strong, prosperous, and great nation. The Founding Fathers knew this truth, which is what made this country so great. But we are at a time and place where what our Founding Fathers risked their lives for, is now being squandered away.

I also have my forestry degree. I went to school at Glenville State College and have been working in forestry in the great state of West Virginia for over 18 years. I have the privilege of being part of an industry that utilizes a great resource, which God has so greatly blessed our state with. My office is the great outdoors, and I enjoy every moment I get to be a part of it. But I see a greater need in our country today and that is for someone to take a stand. When I look at my children and the generations that will follow, I know there is too much at stake for someone to not take a stand.
